A Dutch broadcaster has revealed authorities had beforehand warned an organization behind a deadly Listeria outbreak about issues with shelf life research.
RTL Nieuws reported the findings after requesting paperwork in regards to the incident from the Dutch Meals and Client Product Security Authority (NVWA).
Listeria in processed meats from Offerman, a Ter Beke subsidiary, made 35 individuals sick from 2017 to 2019. Two ladies miscarried and 6 individuals died. Ter Beke cited pending authorized proceedings for not commenting on the report.
